Family Justice Council to publish guidelines clarifying 'financial needs’
"Separating couples will be given clear new guidelines setting out what they should expect when property and income is distributed by the courts, Simon Hughes has announced." Here's an interesting development. The Family Justice Council propose guidelines setting out a framework on matters of property and finance - such that separating couples, mediators, solicitors, and the Judiciary will ALL know what is expected of them concerning such matters at EVERY stage following the point of separation. Sounds like a recipe for resolutions by agreement; and inclination toward mediation, with a potential for reduced litigation.
Now - just for one moment - imagine if the FJC applied the same rationale to matters of post separation parenting? What next - A framework for contact?
